C.G. Zarbock, or Zee as she prefers to be called, is a third career filmmaker. In 2003 she reacquainted herself with a passion that originally sprang from an affair with a Bolex in 1972. Zee’s first project, a short documentary called Recognizing Families:Australia, won a Telly Award in 2004. In October of 2004, her film Dante’s Denouement, was a Top 10 Winner at The Shoot Out Boulder, a 24-hour extreme filmmaking competition. Zee enjoys directing, writing, producing, collaborating, and also mentoring emerging filmmakers. She serves as a volunteer for the Vail Film Festival’s Filmmaking Program and has been on selection committees for the Boulder International Film Festival and the Museum of Contemporary Art-Denver Biennial Film Blowout. Zee lives in Colorado and has two production companies: Unfolding Story Pictures and Ziamar Film, Ltd. She works closely with John Hartman of groovyfilms.biz and is co-creator of the proposed Super Groovy 8mm Film Festival with him. Unfolding Story Pictures projects for 2006 include: a short called Reality TV, a spoof on several popular television shows; A Little Night Music, a documentary about Mozart and vampires (there is a connection through his opera Don Giovanni); and a feature project, as yet unnamed. |
